Endue Software

Empowering healthcare professionals with modern software solutions

Role: Lead Designer
Timeline: 6 months
Tools: Figma

Overview

I joined Endue at a very early stage, and my core responsibility wasn’t just designing an MVP, but helping a highly complex infusion center environment make better, faster, and safer decisions.

This case study will explore my approach to designing the platform, the challenges encountered during the design process, and the solutions implemented to address these challenges. It will also highlight the benefits of the platform to the infusion care center, patients, and healthcare professionals.

My Role

person Founding Designer

First design to join the company.

group Research

Conducting user research to identify pain points and design solutions that are intuitive and easy to learn.

design_services Design System

Contributed to the design system by creating components and patterns.

palette Prototyping

Creating interactive prototypes to test and refine the design before development.

Research - Exploring the industry

At Endue, design wasn’t a separate phase. I was part of discovery with product and engineering from day one, so we were always aligned on the problem before debating solutions

Infusion care centers are highly specialized facilities that require skilled professionals, advanced equipment, and strict protocols to ensure patient safety. This means we have to spend a great amount of research time to gain insight from the industry.

Understanding the complex workflows of healthcare providers and designing software that integrates seamlessly with their existing processes.

Conducting user research to identify pain points and design solutions that are intuitive and easy to learn.

Prioritizing user experience (UX) design to create a visually appealing, intuitive, and efficient platform.

Iteratively testing and refining the software based on user feedback to continuously improve user’s usability.

Early Insights

I worked closely with product to define what the MVP truly needed, collaborated with engineering to understand healthcare system constraints, and made design decisions collaboratively rather than throwing them over the fence.

Here's what we've learned

What I learned quickly at Endue is that users weren’t lacking information. They were lacking clarity. The system was time-consuming, error-prone, and made decision making harder instead of easier.

30% Administrative tasks time consumption
10-33% Medication errors
25% Data entry errors

Understanding the complex Infusion Center Workflow

At Endue, I spent a lot of time understanding how multiple disconnected systems shaped day-to-day decisions. The goal wasn’t to replicate complexity, but to make it legible so users could act with confidence.

Mapping the Stakeholders Relationship

What seemed like a simple workflow became far more complex after mapping stakeholders relationships, which required design to balance different needs while minimizing cognitive and administrative load for providers.

Crafting Referral Intake Flow

Key criteria:

  • Identify referral sources
  • Establish referral criteria
  • Assign a dedicated referral coordinator
  • Create a system for tracking referrals
  • Streamline to the next process

Team Communication

Working closely with cross-functional team, it is important to make sure communication is clear and easy to understand. I use sticky notes as the form to explain features of each component.

Test & Get Feedback

One early solution I designed didn’t work well in practice. We learned quickly that modals were too constrained for critical document review, so we changed direction. For me, discovery is about removing risk, not protecting ideas.

Getting Feedback From Stakeholders

De-risking usability by focusing on outcomes, not features

I see usability as a core design responsibility, especially in healthcare. At Endue, success wasn’t simply about shipping features. It was about reducing risk by making workflows clearer, faster, and more reliable for the people making critical decisions.
